What are the main points of your talk?
My main message is that the issue of packaging must be taken seriously in the context of the circular economy. We must now consider adopting innovative solutions. We need to find a solution to single-use packaging, particularly plastic. It is urgent to consider implementing an appropriate strategy by strengthening the Eco-Jem system, which is dedicated to packaging waste management in Algeria. Finally, we need to raise awareness and, above all, take the necessary measures to ensure that the right materials are chosen for each type of packaging (paper, plastic or metal).
What role do you think the Expert's Agora plays?
The Expert's Agora invites economic operators to move towards better interconnection between the agricultural sector and other sectors, particularly the agri-food industry. In this sense, it contributes to building food sovereignty and security in Algeria.
More generally, how do you see the Djazagro trade show evolving?
It is a trade show that has boosted the entire national economy by developing international value chains in the field of agriculture across all existing sectors. Ideally, we could imagine making it even more operational with targeted editions focused on specific objectives to be achieved, developing national and international partnerships in the process.
