We presented it to you just a few hours after the awards ceremony: the Siga product, presented by the company Prodalex, won the gold medal at the Djaz'Innov 2025 competition.

Siga is a natural carob extract obtained by water extraction followed by concentration, thus preserving the bioactive compounds of the carob fruit, which has been used for thousands of years for its nutritional and medicinal properties and is currently enjoying a resurgence in popularity due to its credibility as a substitute for cocoa (the price of which continues to rise).

In this video, Chakib Boublenza presents the characteristics that enabled Siga to win the competition: ‘We did some research and found a liquid product that is 100% soluble and can be used in all beverages and dairy products. Our product is 100% natural, gluten-free and rich in polyphenols, vitamins and calcium.’ To help popularise its product, which is intended for both industrial and domestic use, Prodalex has also published a collection of carob-based recipes on a dedicated Facebook account.

The Djaz'Innov gold medal can only strengthen the ties between Prodalex and the Djazagro trade show. ‘It's the crossroads of the agri-food industry in Africa. This isn't our first time here... and it won't be our last,’ promises Chakib Boublenza in this video. We will certainly see him again from 12 to 15 April 2026 at the Algiers Exhibition Centre - Safex for Djazagro 2026.
